Strengthening Parish Life
St. Boniface Catholic Church has always been strengthened by the generosity, dedication, and shared effort of its parishioners. In our 120th Anniversary year, parishioners were invited to donate 120 minutes of their time to support parish life and help care for the spaces that have served our community since 1906.
Throughout the year, parishioners volunteered in many ways: participating in the outdoor spring cleaning of the church grounds, helping with the deep cleaning inside the church, and tending the gardens. One of the most meaningful projects was the transformation of the parish garden into our new Anniversary Legacy Butterfly Garden. Parishioners contributed time, tools, expertise, and even perennials from their own gardens to create a beautiful, living symbol of hope and renewal for future generations.
Parishioners also offered their time and skills to help restore and beautify the St. Boniface Church cemetery, bringing new life and dignity to this sacred space. Others volunteered to plan, set up, and take down the celebrations associated with the 120th Anniversary Mass and Reception. Many contributed their talents to parish fundraising efforts, including preparing over 120 dozen perogies for sale.
A parishioner who keeps bees generously donated wax to create the commemorative 120th Anniversary candles, which were sold as a fundraiser for the church.
Together, these acts of service, large and small , reflect the deep commitment of our parish community to caring for one another, honouring our heritage, and strengthening parish life for the future.
