Our Connection to the Worldwide Catholic Church

St. Boniface Parish is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, a global family of faith united under the leadership of the Pope. From the Vatican, Pope Leo offers guidance, encouragement, and pastoral direction to Catholics across the world.

His ministry reminds us that even here on St. Joseph Island, our parish life is connected to a much larger community of believers who share in the same mission, hope, and tradition.

This global connection shapes our identity and links our local parish to the teachings, prayer, and witness of the Church throughout the world.

As a Canadian Roman Catholic parish, St. Boniface also shares in the national community of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, which supports and guides Catholic life across Canada.

About Pope Leo

Pope Leo serves as the spiritual leader of Catholics worldwide, continuing the long tradition of shepherding the Church from the Vatican.

Through his teachings and example, he calls the faithful to deeper prayer, compassion, and unity.

His leadership helps guide the Church’s mission and supports communities like ours as we live out our faith each day.

The Pope’s Prayer Intentions

Every month, the Pope entrusts his Prayer Network with prayer intentions that reflect his deep concerns for humanity and the mission of the Church. His monthly prayer intention serves a global call to transform our prayers into “concrete actions” and as a transformation of the heart; it acts as a compass for a mission of compassion for the world. It proposes a path to mobilize us each month, through prayer and service, to build a more humane and caring world and to cultivate a personal and communal attitude that transforms our environment.
